IBA E-News 7-16-21 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RELATIONS Biden Order Calls for Movement on Data Access Rule, Review of M&A Rules President Biden last Friday issued a wide-ranging executive order on competition issues across the U.S. economy. IBA E-News 7-9-21 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RELATIONS FFIEC Releases Call Report Supplemental Instructions The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council released Call Report supplemental instructions that include reporting changes that went into effect for the June 30, 2021, report date. The changes—which were proposed last December—will allow the FDIC to implement recently proposed amendments to address the temporary deposit insurance assessment effects resulting from the CECL transition. IBA E-News 7-2-21 STATE GOVERNMENT RELATIONS New State Laws Take Effect July 1 The majority of bills that passed the 2021 Indiana General Assembly and were signed by Gov. Eric Holcomb were set to become state law on Thursday, July 1. The General Assembly concluded its legislative work for the 2021 regular session at the end of April. Just over 215 bills were ultimately signed into law by the governor. While a few bills became effective law upon the signature of the governor, most bills had an effective date of July 1, which is a standard date of implementation.
