The Chicago region of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Indiana Bankers Association are jointly presenting the 2026 FDIC Directors College. This important program will give attendees the opportunity to network with regulators to learn about current and emerging issues facing the financial services industry. Topics include what is going on within our state and what it means to our banks and the overall commerce industry. Program designers have closely tied content to feedback received from bankers and suggestions from field supervisors within the state.

Attendees will walk away with practical insights to enhance portfolio strategy, improve risk management practices, and stay ahead of supervisory priorities.

Regulatory compliance continues to evolve in 2026 and should be a routine part of your board discussions. This presentation will highlight key compliance topics including electronic fund transfers, third-party relationship compliance oversight, FDIC’s new Subpart B of Part 328, and a refresher on CMS and CRA.

Although the utilization of paper checks has steadily declined, instances of check and payments fraud have significantly increased in the last decade. This presentation will explore the latest trends in check and payment fraud and common mitigation strategies.
