Michele Barlow

Michele Barlow is Executive Vice President of Education at PaymentsFirst, leading the development and delivery of training and certification programs for members across the midwest, mid-Atlantic, and southeast regions of the U.S. Reflecting her continued commitment to professional growth and payments expertise, she holds several accreditations, including AAP (2010), NCP (2011), APRP (2022), and AFPP (2025). Michele serves on Nacha’s Payments Institute Board of Regents, APRP and AFPP Oversight Panels, and the NCP Editorial Board. She is also active on other national committees, and a frequent speaker at industry events. She joined PaymentsFirst in 2009 after working as a corporate trainer and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Shelly Sipple

Shelly Sipple joined EPCOR in 2005 after an 11-year career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. As Senior Director of Certifications & Continuing Education, she designs and delivers ACH education programs for over 1,800 financial institutions and corporate members. A recognized ACH payments expert, Shelly presents at regional and national conferences and serves on multiple Nacha committees. She has earned AAP (2006), APRP (2018), NCP (2019), and AFPP (2025) certifications. Shelly holds a bachelor’s degree in business education and is passionate about equipping financial professionals with the knowledge and skills to excel in payments.
Emily Nelson
EPCOR
Emily Nelson joined EPCOR in 2019, starting in Advisory Services conducting audits and risk assessments. In 2023, she became Manager of Payments Education and was promoted to Senior Manager in early 2025. Emily designs and leads payments compliance education programs covering traditional and instant payments, supporting over 1,800 financial institutions and corporate members. She holds multiple industry certifications, including Accredited ACH Professional (2019), National Check Professional (2021), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (2022), and Accredited Faster Payments Professional (2025). Emily also serves as staff liaison for EPCOR’s Payments Compliance and Risk Committee.
Eric Wester

Eric Wester is the Director of Member Services at UMACHA. With over a decade of banking experience, he is responsible for providing ACH education through virtual learning opportunities as well as in-person workshops, conferences, and symposiums. As a payments professional focused on education, Eric's goal is to share knowledge and create peace of mind for industry stakeholders.
What excites Eric most about working in the industry is the ongoing innovation to make payments simpler, more transparent, faster, and in line with end-user expectations. He is passionate about payments and has served as a member of the Fraud Information Sharing Work Group and the Fraud Prevention Best Practices and Solutions sub-group with the U.S. Faster Payments Council. He obtained his Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) accreditation in 2017, Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) in 2020, National Check Professional (NCP) in 2023, and Accredited Faster Payments Professional (AFPP) in 2025.
