The program should also involve creating an ERM Committee Charter, selecting appropriate committee members, and understanding top risk categories and their interrelations. Additionally, developing a Risk Management Appetite and Tolerance Statement and utilizing an ERM Risk Assessment Matrix are crucial steps in the process.
The three ongoing phases of ERM (identifying and assessing risk, mitigating and eliminating risk, and monitoring and reporting risk) are essential for maintaining a robust risk management framework. By increasing overall knowledge of ERM, institutions can better understand how to integrate various components into their strategic plans and complete necessary assessments.
