New Requirements For 2026
The Five Star Member Program recognizes IBA member banks that demonstrate outstanding commitment to the Association in five designated areas, measured by the most recently completed calendar year. For more information about the IBA Five Star Member program, contact Josh Myers, 317-333-7165.
Continuing Education
In an ever-evolving, highly regulated industry, bankers must continually stay at the forefront of the latest technological advancements and government regulations. A Five Star Member will invest in its employees by sending them to IBA educational programs and purchasing IBA educational products.
REQUIREMENTS
- Invest in IBA educational programs and products in an amount equal to or greater than your institution’s membership dues. (Regardless of dues level, the minimum requirement for this pillar is capped at $25,000.)
Next-Gen Development
The future of the industry depends on developing tomorrow’s workforce today. Five Star institutions will engage in IBA-sponsored events or opportunities focused on developing the next generation of Indiana’s banking workforce.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least one (1) representative will participate in at least one (1) designated Next-Gen opportunity from Group 1 below or two (2) opportunities from Group 2.
| Group 1 | Group 2 |
| IBA Leadership Development Program | FLD Leadership Conference |
| Financial Services Academy apprenticeship program | Emerging Leaders |
| FLD Lunch & Learn | |
| IBA Intern Conference |
Grassroots Advocacy
The voice of the banking industry is best heard by lawmakers and regulators when spoken directly by their constituents. To this end, a Five Star Member will be directly engaged in both grassroots advocacy and financial support of Indiana BANKPAC.
REQUIREMENTS
- Meet your institution’s Indiana BANKPAC Fair Share goal ($6 per million in Indiana deposits).
- At least one (1) director, officer or employee attends at least one (1) designated grassroots activity from Group 1 below or two (2) activities from Group 2. Note: for all examples in Group 2, multiple representatives attending the same event counts as one (1) “activity” for this pillar; the same representative engaging in multiple opportunities (e.g., holding separate meetings with multiple lawmakers) would count as multiple “activities” for this pillar.

Volunteerism
The Association is strongest when its members share in its direction. A Five Star Member institution will have a representative on at least one IBA board or committee.
REQUIREMENTS

| Boards of Directors | Committees |

Preferred Service Provider Utilization
The Association’s Board and professional staff engage in thorough due diligence reviews of service providers that agree to offer value-added benefits exclusive to IBA-member banks. These Preferred Service Providers (PSPs) also present a business opportunity for the IBA, helping diversify the Association’s revenue streams and decrease dependence upon member dues. Five Star Banks engage with these endorsed providers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Utilize at least three (3) IBA Preferred Service Providers (PSPs).
