Two Indiana bankers were recognized with awards of excellence from the Indiana Bankers Association. The Woman of the Year award and the Woman on the Rise award were presented at the Association’s 2021 Banking on Women Conference in Indianapolis on Nov. 4.
Jadira Hoptry, director of community lending and development of First Merchants Bank, Muncie, was named 2021 IBA Woman of the Year. The award, sponsored by Krieg DeVault LLP, recognizes a woman in the Indiana banking community who excels at her profession, is active in the community and who supports other women to reach their potential. Hoptry joined First Merchants Bank in 2020 after prior service since 1998 with Fifth Third Bank in Florida and Indiana. She serves in leadership positions with Prosperity Indiana, the Indiana Latino Institute, Bankable Powered by the Flagship Enterprise Center, and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation. She also has served with Coburn Place Safe Haven, Dress for Success, Pace Center for Girls and The Women’s Fund of Southwest Florida. A graduate of the University of Florida, Hoptry has earned certification as an economic development finance professional.
Nicole M. Vogt, senior business banking relationship manager in Indianapolis for KeyBank, NA, Cleveland, has been named 2021 IBA Woman on the Rise. The award, sponsored by SmithAmundsen LLC, recognizes a woman age 40 or younger who makes a positive impact in banking and her community through engagement, drive and teamwork. Vogt joined KeyBank in 2016 after prior service with other financial institutions, including First Merchants Corporation, Muncie, and Old National Bank, Evansville. Additionally, she served for four years in the U.S. Army National Guard, attaining the rank of sergeant. Vogt is a founding member of Executive Women in Finance, established in 2015, and in 2018 she launched an initiative to help veteran business owners through leadership development and educational opportunities. She is also the co-chair of Key4Women in central Indiana, a KeyBank program that provides leadership development, advocacy and networking to empower local businesswomen. Vogt is a graduate of Indiana University.
